The University of Georgia

Herpetological Society

Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians.  Research in this field examines the ecology, evolution, physiology, and behavior of these animals.  The University of Georgia Herpetological Society (UGHS) is a student led organization open to anyone within and outside the University of Georgia community.  The society was founded in 2005 with three main goals: to learn, to teach, and to conserve.  UGHS is based in and partially funded by the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, but includes members and officers of various majors and departments across campus.
